The surprisingly named Soft vodka from Russian distillers Kauffman delivers a spirit with an impressive level of purity. Not once, twice or even three times, this offering has been distilled a sum of 14 times. The resulting vodka is then twice filtered, first through birch charcoal and then quartz sand, to create a softer texture than we are used to. The additions of honey and ginseng root extract before bottling lend a subtle sweet and warming taste. Created by Moscow based Dr. Mark Kauffman, Soft vodka has been created with scientific precision, with the wheat from which it has been distilled chosen in the same way that a winemaker chooses his grapes. Crops are carefully selected based on the climactic conditions as well as the soil quality. The resulting spirit is soft in texture and ideal drunk chilled on its own.
