The Origins of Capreolus Distillery

It is said nature photographer, Barney Wilczak, has certain beliefs when it comes to creating the finest gins. He believes a combination of passion and a belief of quality over quantity is essential to ensure perfection every time.

Tucked away in the heart of the Cotswolds is where you’ll find the Capreolus Distillery. Its location is enriched with beautiful scenery and is in fact the very thing that inspired Wilczak to a life of photography and a career focused around nature conservation.

It wasn’t long before Wilczak’s passions led him to explore a little further out of his field and he soon became fascinated with fermentation and perfecting fruit distillation- so much so that he thought it only right to convert his own house into a distillery! It was designed with two specially built custom stills to preserve the quality of the fruit, which doesn’t last that long.

Garden Swift

After highly intensive research into fruit distillation exploration (pardon the rhyme) Wilczak was able to create the perfect gin ‘Garden Swift’. It’s made from 34 different herbs and botanicals and is wonderfully floral and spicy- a premium gin for sure.
