The name may whisk you away to foreign climes, yet Bombay Sapphire is actually produced at a distillery at Laverstoke Mill in Hampshire, England. The secret to the smooth citrus flavours of this London Dry Gin is down to the vapour infusion process the distillery uses – unlike other gins which boil their botanicals into the spirit.
The company still uses two of its original Carterhead stills which date from the 1830s. Special editions like the Sunset edition infuses the gin with Spanish mandarins and warming spices, just the thing for taking in a sunset. The original Bombay Sapphire comes in its distinctive blue bottle. The Star of Bombay also comes in its signature blue bottle but is a bolder expression with two additional botanicals.
