With a history that dates right back to 1575, Bols can lay claim to being one of – if not the – oldest distilled spirits brand in the world. The Bols brand was originally established in Amsterdam in the 16th century. But it wasn’t until the 17th century that the brand really experienced growth.
At the time Amsterdam was a massive trading hub, meaning Bols had plenty of ingredients to work with at their fingertips. It now boasts a dizzying array of drinks including genever; which it first distilled in 1664, before reintroducing it in 2008; brandies flavoured with cherry and apricot, gins, curacao, liqueur flavoured with mint, banana, yoghurt and melon, and lots more.
