The first home of Beefeater Gin was The Chelsea Distillery, London in the 1800s. The distillery changed hands in 1863 and the first bottling of the iconic gin followed. The fact the same recipe is still used today is a testament to its popularity and by 1963 its reputation was cemented when it was the only gin selected to be on board the maiden voyage of the QEII.
The original recipe delivers strong citrus notes and plenty of juniper – a quintessentially London Dry flavour. It's since been joined by fruitier numbers like blood orange, pink strawberry, peach and raspberry and blackberry, as well as special editions like London Garden drawing inspiration from the capital's green spaces.
