This Czech brand made its name back in 1807 as a purveyor of ‘English Bitter’ a liqueur recipe for curing stomach ailments. Though it wasn’t until 1938 that Beckerovka actually conquered England, the homeland of one of its founding fathers. The liqueur is based on a secret recipe that includes around 20 different herbs and spices, as well as orange oil and pure water from the Bohemian region.
