Despite its moniker the Barton 1792 distillery was actually established in 1879 in Kentucky. The ‘1792’ rather refers to the year Kentucky officially joined the United States. With 29 barrel ageing warehouses and an impressive still house, the resulting 1792 small batch bourbon is sophisticated and complex.
It uses a high rye recipe which results in unmistakable notes of spice. Rare limited edition expressions include Full Proof, Bottled in Bond and Single Barrel.
