The family-owned Bodega where Anciano wine originates from has been operating since the start of the 20th century. The classic, oak-aged red wines are matured in oak barrels in the cellars situated near the town of Valdepeñas. In the heart of Spain this region is known for producing intensely flavoured red wines thanks to its warm climate and stony vineyards.
Its Gran Reserva Tempranillo uses the strawberry fruit of the Tempranillo and undergoes an extended seven-year maturation period. The oak barrels add complexity and character. The five-year Reserva is full bodied with ripe berry and cherry flavours and the smooth finish of balsamic and cinnamon.
